Arne has been teaching my son music theory for almost a year. He is a fantastic teacher making everything easy to understand and practical. My son is very much at ease with Arne and very shortly after he started teaching him he passed his grade 4 exam with confidence. He is now working on his Grade 5 and with Arne’s top quality teaching he is sure to pass with flying colours!

Debbie has been an inspirational music teacher and tutor to my children. Her own music knowledge, passion and skill are second to none; this combines with Debbie's detailed understanding of the syllabus, excellent planning and preparation and a total commitment to coaching every student to reach their potential in an energetic and motivating way. Whether studying the theory of music or an instrument, Debbie has delivered my children's lessons in a creative, enthusiastic and encouraging style; she has found innovative and differing ways to motivate both my children to practice (no easy task!) and build their musical ability. Debbie is dedicated to bringing the very best out of her students in a nurturing, patient, engaging and hugely positive way. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

It was a marathon of a day and a lot of fun. All the children gained a great deal from it thanks to the meticulous organisation of MED Music Services and host Arne.

‘Arne was brilliant! Every child loved it and participated really enthusiastically! We would definitely ask him again’.

‘It was really fun’. ‘The performance was brilliant, so much to look at’. ‘I wanted to be the lion’. ‘I wish we could keep the dragon’. (The children of Highbury Primary School, Portsmouth)

We had a fantastic day ………. Arne was brilliant with the children of all ages and his resources were amazing.

Workshop – Chiltern Tutorial School, Hampshire
It was a fabulous morning. The children absolutely adored the drumming. I couldn't believe how much the children achieved in just a morning. The performance at the end was so vibrant.

I came to Debbie as a total beginner and was quickly taught the basics of playing, achieving ABRSM Grade 2 within the first year. She has been an enormous help in my GCSE Music exam preparation and my understanding of composition has greatly improved with her advice. She is a knowledgeable and fun teacher and I would certainly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn classical guitar.

Workshop – Wood Grange Infant School, London
A fantastic day, enjoyed by all the children, we were amazed at how much the children learned in such a short space of time.

Workshop – St Michael’s School, Otford, Kent
The pupils' spiritual development is excellent. The pupils at the pre-prep assembly celebrating the Chinese New Year responded with awe and empathy as the music played and the lion and the dragons woke up. Thanks for a great workshop the children really enjoyed it and so did I!

Theo – student (13 years old)
Debbie has been teaching me since the age of 6 years, first in recorder, then music theory and now piano. She makes the lessons fun, such as Karate recorder where we had to learn and play recorder pieces of increasing difficulty, earning different coloured ‘belts’ like Karate. I continued with the ABRSM descent recorder exams and had passed Grade 5 by the age of 9! Debbie helped me with music theory, breaking it down into small chunks and setting and marking practice papers. This helped me to work my way quickly through the grades achieving merits and distinctions and Grade 5 by 10 years old. Debbie now teaches me piano and always finds interesting pieces for me to play. She helps improve my technique and timing and is positive and enthusiastic, even if I haven’t done as much practice as I should have! She keeps me motivated and working towards my Grade 7 next term. She has also helped me prepare for 11+ music Scholarships, helping select appropriate pieces and ensuring I was at the required standard ( i was offered 3 music Scholarships)
Debbie is also keen to help out in any way musically, including accompanying me on my flute to give me extra practice before exams and tips on rhythm and musicality, as well as practice for the oral part of my music exams.
I have really flourished under her tutorage and can thoroughly recommend her as an excellent teacher who helps students achieve high standards and music results.

Debbie has been an outstanding teacher for my children, for both practical music and theory lessons. She makes the lessons enjoyable, as well as preparing the children to a very high standard for exams. She is very dedicated and professional, and she really goes the extra mile for her students.

Workshop – Kings Worthy School, Hampshire
Thank you MED Music for a fantastic Olympics workshop. It really got our Olympics topic off to a flying start and will be something the children will remember for a long time. Lots of positive feedback from parents this morning and the children thought "it was the best assembly ever!"

Workshop – Alexandra CP School, Wrekham, Wales
Thank you so much for two unforgettable days, thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of your workshops.

Workshop – St Crispin’s Infant School, Kent
The Chinese workshops are fantastic and tie in particularly well with Chinese New Year celebrations. Sessions can involve at least 30 children and every child is involved in some way. The appearance of the enormous dragon definitely has the wow factor and the children continued to talk about it for a long time afterwards. The workshops are worth every penny and we can't wait to try samba next year.

Debbie is a fantastic teacher who truly inspires her pupils to succeed! She is kind, positive and encouraging and works at the pace of the child. She helped my daughters achieve Grade 8 Distinction and Merit in recorder and my son is about to take Grade 7 piano, aged 13 years. She has helped them all achieve Grade 5 music theory (with merits and distinctions at each level) and offered individual support and marking of past papers. My children very much enjoy their music lessons with Debbie and responded by achieving high grades at all levels due to her positive attitude and excellent teaching! I would thoroughly recommend her.

My two boys learn piano with Debbie. She not only teaches them meticulously but most importantly inspires and motivates them to strive to improve continually. Both my sons have developed a real liking and interest in piano, thanks to her teaching methods and the way she presents the music to them. She sets challenging but achievable targets for them, which encourages them to practice regularly and they have come a long way in developing their confidence. To be honest we couldn't have asked for a better music teacher for my sons.

Workshop – Meonstoke Primary School, Hampshire
We were delighted with the workshop on Wednesday. It was pitched just right for our children and Arne has high expectations for all of the pupils which is really encouraging. The children benefited from the experience because it helped them to understand about the celebrations of another culture, something which we are ambassadors for.

Debbie has taught my 16 year old son classical guitar and my 14 year old son piano for the past six years. She has also taken them both through the ABRSM Music Theory grades to Grade 5. She is very patient and understanding, particularly when practice has not been as diligent as she might like, and her exam results are consistently very good. In addition, Debbie has been of great assistance to my eldest son whilst studying for his GCSE Music exam – helping him to improve his composition skills and duetting with him for one of his performance pieces. I would recommend Debbie to anyone seeking lessons for themselves or their children. She is a gifted musician and an excellent teacher. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Theo – Student (13 years old)
Arne has been teaching me guitar for the last 6 years and always makes the lessons fun! I enjoy the themed sight reading which includes Christmas songs, ABBA, musicals etc as this helps me learn. He chooses interesting exam pieces for me to play and gives feedback on areas to work on in a positive and encouraging way, developing different techniques and helping me pass Grade 6 with Distinction recently. We also play duets together and have entered the Portsmouth music festival for several years and this year we were chosen to play our duets in the Gala concert ! I greatly enjoy playing the guitar and this is down to having an extremely talented and inspiring teacher!

Alyssa – Student (16 years old)
Debbie has been teaching me for over 10 years both inside primary school as well as outside lessons. She has taught me the recorder from the very basics all the way up to grade 8 and beyond. She has enabled me to develop into an accomplished young musician, achieving grade 8 distinction as well as receiving a numerous awards at the Portsmouth Music festival 3 years in a row; all of which would not have been possible without Debbie's amazing teaching techniques and her inspirational enthusiasm for the recorder and music. Debbie has always made the lessons exciting, from karate recorder at the to messing around with different flutter tonguing for my diploma. Her whacky ways of teaching really brings out the fun side of playing the recorder and thanks to this my passion for the recorder stemmed from so early on.
Debbie has really helped me achieve my full potential as she always stretches me with the hardest music; I would never have imagined of being able to play Czardas by Monti (at full speed) in front of a full auditorium at the Portsmouth Gala concert, but thanks to Debbie's hard work and determination I pulled it off!
Not only has Debbie taught me the recorder she has helped me develop into an all rounded musician by teaching me music theory form grade 1 to 5. She also helped me hugely with the ideas for my music GCSE compositions which I gained full marks in, achieving the highest mark they have ever had at my school! Debbie is always willing to help out and give up her time to give extra lessons- she often gave me extra aural lessons before an exam which were so useful as this is the part I find the hardest! Without Debbie, my recorder playing as well as musical understanding would definitely not be at the level it is today.

Workshop – Bedales Pre-Prep School, Hampshire
'A wonderful workshop. Arne did a great job and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. The Reception faces were an absolute picture when they walked in and the wiggle your bottom competition left me with tears streaming down my face!!! So... a huge thank you’.
