This resource consists of six power points with annotated score and embedded audio extracts for each slide. The focus is on how the music elements are used in the Purcell set work, 'Music for a While'.
You will acquire the necessary subject specific terminology using the acronym R SMITH (Rhythm, Tempo and Metre - Structure - Melody - Instrumentation/Use of Technology - Texture - Harmony and Tonality) and the elements are dealt with one at a time (i.e. one element per power point). The score is annotated and because each slide has an accompanying audio, the aspect of the element being discussed can be instantly heard in action. Really helpful for delivery by a teacher, but also designed for my online course enabling independent study.
